February 2026

February brought organization ownership transfer, the official Phase Console Helm Chart 1.0 for Kubernetes self-hosting, SOC 2 Type II certification, and a series of UI/UX improvements and bug fixes. Here's the full recap.

Organization Ownership Transfer

You can now transfer ownership of a Phase organization to another member. This is useful when a company founder or admin needs to hand off control to another team member — for example, during a team restructuring or when an employee changes roles.

The transfer flow includes:

  • A search-enabled user selector to choose the new owner
  • A "Danger Zone" confirmation dialog with the organization name
  • Verification that the new owner has backed up their recovery keys
  • Email notifications sent to both the current and new owner
  • Automatic redirect to the organization home after transfer

Organization ownership transfer is available to users with the Owner role from the organization settings page.

Available in Console v2.60.0. Check out the docs for more details.

Phase Console Helm Chart 1.0

The official Phase Console Helm Chart is now available at v1.0.0, making it easier than ever to self-host Phase on Kubernetes. The chart provides a production-ready deployment configuration with:

  • Configurable external PostgreSQL and Redis connections with SSL/TLS support
  • Customizable init container images for air-gapped environments
  • nameTransformer support for secret key formatting in Kubernetes secrets

We also fixed the nameTransformer not being applied in secret processors — previously, the nameTransformer option was accepted but silently ignored, which could cause issues during migration.

Available in Kubernetes Operator v1.4.1. Check out the Helm chart docs for setup instructions.

SOC 2 Type II Certified

Phase has officially achieved SOC 2 Type II certification. This validates Phase's security controls, availability, and data protection practices over an extended observation period.

Console UI/UX Polish

A series of UI/UX improvements landed this month:

  • Secrets loading skeletons — The secrets view now shows loading skeletons instead of a blank screen while secrets are being fetched
  • Access control loading states — Added loading state indicators to the access control pages
  • App encryption indicator — Apps now display an encryption status indicator in the app list, giving you a quick visual reference
  • Improved secret lookup and creation — Streamlined the flow for searching and creating new secrets
  • Lockbox viewer improvements — Redesigned the lockbox viewer with improved UX and a fix for the lockbox auto-closing when switching browser tabs
  • Improved add member/service account dialogs — The dropdowns for adding members and service accounts to apps now show more relevant information with better empty states

Available in Console v2.59.0.

Pricing Updates

We've updated our pricing across all tiers to better reflect the value, scale, and operational maturity of the Phase platform — including SOC 2 Type II certification, enterprise-grade features like Dynamic Secrets and External Identities, and the growing infrastructure behind Phase Cloud. The website pricing page has also been simplified with a cleaner layout and a search bar for the feature comparison table.

Check out the updated Pricing page for full details.

Other improvements and fixes

  • Fix .env export for special characters — Secret values with special characters are now properly quoted when exporting as .env files
  • Fix AWS Secrets Manager sync check — Added credential validation to the existing syncs check for the AWS Secrets Manager integration
  • Restrict logout to POST — The logout endpoint now only accepts POST requests with CSRF protection
  • CLI referencing fix — Fixed secret referencing string matching issues in the Phase CLI
  • Docker tag strategy — Changed CI so the :latest Docker tag is only pushed on release tags, not on every push to main
  • Security patches — Updated Django to 4.2.28, Axios to 1.13.5, sqlparse to 0.5.4, and other dependency updates

All features are live on Phase Cloud and available in the latest releases for self-hosted users.

As always, we'd love your feedback — come say hi on Slack or GitHub.
